Soler: "I'm at the coach and the team's disposal, wherever needed"

Making his return after two months out of action with an injury, Carlos Soler showed his talent and versatility in the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid. The Spaniard played in several positions in the midfield, following the instructions of coach Albert Celades.
“It was a strange game, because I was coming back after two months out through injury. I got back on the pace immediately. We scored and had more opportunities. I felt good -albeit obviously I have a way to go to get back to my best. With playing time and training sessions, I’ll get there. That’s the most important thing,” Soler told VCF Media after the match.
“The coach is the man who knows best where I can perform better, and if he puts me on the wing as he did to start with today, or if I have to move into the middle then I’m going to perform as best I can. I’m at the disposal of the coach and the team, wherever needed.”
Back into the thick of things, Soler is a candidate to feature on Wednesday in the Champions League – a game that he sees as vital for the team’s progress in the competition.
“We’ve got a tough game coming up in France, which is going to be difficult. It’s going to test our Champions League chances. We’re going to go there to win and to compete. Above all, we want the three points there, then we’ll think about the next league game. The Champions League game is next up, and we want to go through to the knockout stage.
“We’re alive in every competition. Today we got a point, and we’ve gone several games without defeat. That gives us confidence. Our next league match is against Osasuna at El Sadar, which is a tough ground. We have to keep going. We’re close to our objectives in LaLiga, and in the Champions League we have an important game that will almost show what we can do in that competition. We’ll be going for the three points,” concluded the VCF Academy product.
